Joplin Regional Business Journal provides one of the most comprehensive collections of business leads and public records in the region. The records printed in JRBJ’s publication and on its website are duplicates or are taken from those filed for public record and do not necessarily affect the business or financial standing of the parties mentioned. Any explanation of these items will be published upon request. Included in JRBJ’s collection are regional bankruptcies (in Southeast Kansas, Southwest Missouri and Northeast Oklahoma); city of Joplin health inspections; city of Joplin building permits; city of Joplin and city of Carthage new businesses; and deeds of trust and mortgages from Jasper County and Newton County. Through JRBJ’s online records portal, readers can search for all records by date. Some records – such as deeds of trust – allow for further search functionality, narrowing down records by amount, for instance. A search will yield the first two results for public view, but further results are available by purchase only. Records are $0.50 per line. Under no circumstance will any judgment, decree or other matter of public record be knowingly withheld for publication by this newspaper. Every precaution is taken in compiling and printing all records of the courts, however Joplin Regional Business Journal assumes no liability for errors or omissions. Records are compiled by David Mink, JRBJ reporter, and Sydney Bounds, JRBJ editorial researcher.
